O&M Engineer Instrumentation (Gas Pipeline Operations/Maintenance)

Do not apply if you do not have experience certificate in Oil & Gas, IOCL/BPCL, GAIL, HPCL Pipeline or petrochemical sector (operation & maintenance - O&M) and qualification specialization in Instrumentation Engineering.
Role & responsibilities
Scope of work under Operations/Maintenance services are as under but not limited to:
- Perform lubrication of machines, handle coolants and lubricants, and carry out daily maintenance activities including predictive, preventive, and breakdown work as per schedule.
- Maintain and service valves of all types (gate, globe, ball, NRV, safety, etc.) including greasing, sealant injection, removal, and installation.
- Identify and repair mechanical leakages by replacing or reassembling parts as instructed.
- Assist in fire and safety-related activities, including maintenance of firefighting equipment.
- Carry out maintenance of scraper barrels, basket strainers, pig launchers, piping systems, and flow control devices.
- Conduct condition monitoring, equipment calibration, oil flushing, vapour lock removal, and pipe thickness checks.
- Support loading/unloading, stacking of spares, cleaning of oil stains, and general housekeeping of equipment and stores.
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance for transformers, DG sets, UPS systems, HT/LT panels, solar systems, MOVs, battery banks, lighting systems, exhaust fans, and electrical panels.
- Conduct insulation and megger testing, battery health checks, earth resistance measurements, calibration of instruments, and panel wiring.
- Operate DG sets, manage power source switchover, and assist in the installation of new equipment or wiring changes.
- Maintain battery banks, UPS, solar inverters/plants, fire alarms, telecom, and VHF systems.
- Take energy and CP readings, and coordinate with vendors for equipment servicing or overhauls.
- Carry distilled water and diesel to SV stations, maintain electrical fittings, and liaise with state electricity boards when required.
- Maintain and calibrate field instruments like transmitters, gauges, switches, control valves, sensors, and safety valves.
- Handle instrumentation tubing, ferrule joints, and rectify leaks in fittings and connections.
- Maintain instrument panels, PLCs, marshalling racks, and assist in loop checking, cable laying, and panel servicing.
- Assist in dismantling, cleaning, testing, documentation, tagging, and reinstallation of instruments and valves.
- Monitor gas/smoke detectors, fire detection panels, and clean agent systems.
- Provide round-the-clock operational support at receipt and dispatch stations.
- Monitor field equipment and utility performance, log readings, report abnormalities, and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
- Assist with basic civil ARC tasks, operate communication systems (phones/walkie-talkies), and manage process documentation and recordkeeping.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Officer-in-Charge or authorized personnel.
Preferred candidate profile
Candidate Requirements & Salary Structure:
Highly skilled - B.E./B.Tech
. (Bachelor of Engineering/Technology) in specialization in Instrumentation Engineering
., with minimum of 01 Yrs. Experience in LPG Gas Pipeline Sector.Salary Details:
CTC - 35,273 (Including Leave wages, Bonus wages & Allowances)
Total EPF - 6376
Insurance(GMC/WMC) - 829
In Hand/Take Home: 28,082
Important Terms
Salary is variable
as per Central Govt. Minimum Wage Act.- Wage revision will only be done in
April & October
as per CLC. Accommodation, food, and travel
expenses are to be managed by the employee from within the CTC.No additional perks
or allowances.PPE & Uniform
will be provided by the company.- CTC includes EPF, Bonus wages, Leave wages, and Gratuity components.
Leave Structure:
As per contract,leave wages @ 5.77%
of the Basic Minimum Wage component
are included in the CTC
.- No separate paid leave is provided beyond this.

Shift Pattern:
Working Hour: 8 Hours
Week off: 1 day in a week
Rotational Shifts (A, B, C)
- Each shift is 8 hours with 24x7 coverage as per the duty roster.
