Job Title: Manager Transport Coordination Location: Raipur, India Department: Logistics & Transportation Reports To: Head – Supply Chain Operations Experience Required: 5+ years in fleet/logistics management (including leadership roles) About the Role We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Transport Coordination Manager to spearhead fleet optimization and logistics operations across India. This role demands strategic leadership, operational excellence, and strong analytical capabilities to drive efficiency, reduce transportation costs, and enhance service performance. The ideal candidate will bring not only technical expertise in logistics but also a sharp eye for growth opportunities in transport-related services. Key Responsibilities Fleet Strategy & Optimization Design and implement national-level strategies for optimal fleet utilization and turnaround. Analyze logistics demand vs. capacity to enable efficient route planning and fleet deployment. Drive reduction in empty runs and idle time to enhance cost efficiency. Operations Management Manage end-to-end transport operations across all regions, ensuring on-time dispatch and delivery. Collaborate closely with warehouse, regional logistics, and customer service teams to ensure smooth coordination. Monitor daily performance against operational KPIs and ensure cost control. Vendor & Partner Engagement Oversee performance and compliance of 3PL providers and transport vendors. Negotiate contracts, SLAs, and rate agreements to drive value and service reliability. Technology & Analytics Leverage TMS, GPS, and analytics tools to track performance and derive actionable insights. Create and maintain MIS dashboards for key transport KPIs (e.g., cost per trip, load factor, delivery timelines). Promote data-driven decision-making to support operations and business development. Compliance & Safety Ensure strict adherence to all legal, regulatory, and safety guidelines across transport functions. Foster a culture of safety and compliance among internal teams and partners. Leadership & Development Lead and mentor a distributed team of regional transport managers and coordinators. Implement training programs focused on process improvement and regulatory compliance. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster team accountability. Candidate Profile Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or equivalent (MBA preferred). Minimum 5 years of experience in fleet/logistics/transportation, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Sound knowledge of Indian logistics networks, legal norms, and operational best practices. Proficiency in transport software (TMS), route optimization tools, MS Excel, and analytics dashboards. Preferred Traits Prior experience in sectors like FMCG, e-commerce, manufacturing, or third-party logistics (3PL). Demonstrated ability to identify and capitalize on new transport business opportunities (e.g., fleet leasing, external logistics services). Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-location environment. Open to frequent travel to regional hubs. Technical Skills Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SAP transport-related modules. Advanced knowledge of fleet analytics, cost benchmarking, and transport KPIs.
