Linux System Administrator

As a Linux Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and supporting our Linux infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud. Your key responsibilities will include managing and maintaining Linux servers (CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian) in cloud and web hosting environments. You will also be tasked with configuring and optimizing web servers (Apache, Nginx), mail servers, and databases (MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL). Additionally, you will implement and manage firewalls, perform DDoS mitigation, and conduct server security hardening. Setting up and supporting virtualization platforms (KVM, Proxmox, VMware) will also be part of your role. Automation will be a crucial aspect of your work, as you will be required to create automation scripts using Bash and work with tools like Ansible and cronjobs. Monitoring systems, troubleshooting network/server issues, and maintaining detailed logs and documentation will also be part of your daily tasks. You will also assist with DNS, SSL, IP subnetting, reverse DNS, and other network configurations. To excel in this role, you should have at least 2 years of system administration experience, preferably in cloud/web hosting environments. Strong knowledge of Linux system administration (CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian) is essential, along with experience in virtualization, server security, remote backups, and log analysis. Proficiency in troubleshooting system/network issues effectively and efficiently is also required. Good understanding of cloud architecture, load balancing, and high availability setups is important, as well as working knowledge of DNS, SSL, IP management, and server monitoring tools. Basic knowledge of Git and version control systems would be a plus. In terms of soft skills, strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and occasionally clients are necessary. You should be able to work independently and manage tasks with ownership. A proactive mindset with a solution-oriented approach is highly valued. You should also be comfortable working in 24x7 rotational shifts if needed (remote or hybrid). Preferred skills that would be advantageous for this role include experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization tools, familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, DigitalOcean, or Vultr, hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Nagios, Grafana, and an understanding of Windows RDP server management. This position requires you to be located in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow - 226010, Uttar Pradesh, or be willing to relocate before starting work. A Bachelor's degree is preferred for this role.
