Linux Administrator Lead / L3

Location:

Role & responsibilities:

• Minimum 13-18 years Operations Experience in 24x7 high-availability Linux Production environment.
• Hands-on experience with Linux and high availability solutions.
• Experience with medium to large environments as Team lead.
• Understanding of UNIX/Linux Operating Systems - Red Hat, SuSe, Ubuntu and other flavours of Linux,- Files systems - EXT, GFS, NFS, XFS ,- UNIX kernel admin/tune.
• Responsible for new Project deployment and day-to-day operations with the focuses on Linux, Open-Source Application.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with scripting on Bash/Korn etc. will be an added advantage.
• Work with application specific kernel parameters, system hardening, implement firewall, allow and disallow port access.
• Work with latency sensitive workload that includes process scheduling, memory, network and overall performance tuning of RHEL.
• Logical Volume Manager (LVM).
• User Administration, Patch, Package Management, security patches, Performance Monitoring , Fine tuning using tools like iostat, vmstat, netstat and sar.
• Hands-on experience on open-source monitoring tool like Nagios, Icinga, Grafana, Prometheus, Graylog is required.
• Should perform installation, implementation, customization, operation, recovery and performance tuning.
• Working knowledge of Software based load balancers.
• Act on Day to Day House Keeping tasks by using tools & scripts.
• Install and maintain security patches on the operational and development system.
• Red-Hat Certification will be an added advantage.
• Should have knowledge of application high availability, DC-DR Drills, RTO, RPO.
• Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware, Nutanix.
• Linux Software installation (rpm, yum, source code).
• Performance management & system recovery.
• Understanding and tunning of Kernel parameters.
• Hands knowledge of Automation products like ANSIBLE, Puppet.
• Hands knowledge of OpenShift, Dockers, Containers, Kubernetes, KAFKA.
• Managing file backup with tar, gzip, untar, gunzip, cpio and veritas.
• Configuration and troubleshooting of the job scheduler (Cron and at).
• Good working knowledge of HAproxy, Keepalived and Iptables/Firewall.
• Should have knowledge of Backup Solution like Commvault, Netbackup.
• Knowledge on MS-Windows OS will be an added advantage.
• Liaise with other support teams to resolve the issues.
• Should be able to lead and motivate the team to resolve the issues at initial level.
• Should be able to ensure the trainings of engineers for existing and new technologies.
• Expert in handling stake holders (internal & external).
• Must possess significant work experience in production, mission critical- environments.
• Should have exposure of facing Security compliance audits.
• Knowledge of AWS Cloud technologies will be an advantage.
