Job Description

Key Job Responsibilities Installation: Assemble and install elevator components such as elevator cars, platforms, walls, doors, electrical wiring, control systems, cables, motors, and hydraulic or traction systems. This includes reading and interpreting blueprints and technical manuals to properly set up the equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks like oiling, cleaning mechanical parts, inspecting safety devices, and conducting safety audits to ensure elevators meet regulatory standards and operate efficiently Repair: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using testing devices and tools. Repair or replace defective parts such as locks, gears, cables, wiring, brakes, motors, switches, and control systems. Respond to emergency repair calls promptly to minimize downtime Safety Compliance: Ensure all installations and repairs comply with safety codes, building regulations, and industry standards. Conduct safety inspections and maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs performed Collaboration and Learning: Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and construction professionals. Apprentice elevator installers often assist experienced technicians to learn best practices and develop technical skills Work Environment and Conditions Elevator technicians often work in machine rooms, elevator shafts, and construction sites. The job can involve physical labor, working at heights, and handling heavy tools and machinery. Safety gear is mandatory, and work hours may include evenings, weekends, and on-call emergency shifts
