Lidar Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly experienced LiDAR Engineer/ Senior LiDAR Engineer

to lead the processing, analysis, and interpretation of LiDAR data for high-impact

projects. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in LiDAR systems,

3D point cloud processing, and geospatial data integration to support decision-

making in engineering, infrastructure, and remote sensing applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end processing of airborne, terrestrial, and mobile LiDAR

datasets

• Perform quality control (QA/QC) and validation of LiDAR-derived products

• Develop automated workflows for point cloud classification, feature extraction,

and surface modelling

• Integrate LiDAR with GIS, imagery, CAD, and other geospatial datasets

• Support the development of digital terrain models (DTM), digital surface

models (DSM), and 3D mapping products

• Optimize and manage large-scale geospatial data storage and delivery

solutions

• Collaborate with managers, GIS specialists to ensure data accuracy

• Mentor junior LiDAR engineers and provide technical support inside the team.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Geomatics, Remote Sensing, Civil

Engineering, Geography, or related field

• 3+ years of experience in LiDAR data processing and 3D geospatial analytics

• Proficiency with tools such as Microstation connect edition, TerraScan,

LAStools, Global Mapper

• Strong understanding of coordinate systems, geodesy, and geospatial data

standards

• Familiarity with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and 3D visualization platforms

Preferred:

• Experience with LiDAR for transportation, utility, forestry, or autonomous

systems

• Knowledge of photogrammetry, radar, or multispectral imagery integration

• Familiarity with cloud platforms for LiDAR data management (e.g., AWS,

Google Earth Engine)
