Job Description

As a Legal Counsel specializing in Commercial Law at Siemens Limited India, you will play a crucial role in providing top-notch legal support and guidance to the business. Your responsibilities will include risk analysis, drafting and negotiating contracts, and managing dispute resolution. It is vital that you possess a strong understanding of Contract laws, Competition Laws, Legal Metrology Act, Data Privacy Legislations, and Arbitration laws. Your ability to analyze contracts thoroughly and evaluate legal risks for projects will be key in this role. Your primary focus will be on developing a comprehensive understanding of projects and proposing mitigation strategies from both a business and legal standpoint. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills will be essential as you navigate customer contracts, vendor/supplier contracts, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations. You will also be involved in litigation management, handling legal proceedings such as mediation, conciliation, arbitration, and court proceedings independently or with external counsels. To excel in this role, you should hold a Law degree from a reputable institution with approximately 4-5 years of post-qualification experience. Prior experience working in a law firm or as an in-house counsel for multinational companies in manufacturing and service industries is preferred. Proficiency in Contract Laws, Anti-Trust regulations, Legal Metrology, Data Privacy laws, and Arbitration laws is essential. Strong communication and legal writing skills in English, a problem-solving approach, and a dedicated attitude are highly valued traits. The role will report to the Lead Lawyer in India and will be based at the Siemens office in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.
