Legal and Privacy Trainee

Role Overview: Prudential Health India (PHI) is seeking a Legal and Privacy Trainee to join their team in Mumbai. As a key member of the legal and privacy office, you will be responsible for conducting research, collaborating with various teams, drafting internal policies and customer-facing forms, reviewing contracts, and driving privacy awareness campaigns within the organization. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative solutions to complex startup business issues in the health insurance sector. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct thorough research on IRDAI Regulations and Group Policies, and map the requirements. - Collaborate with various teams to understand data retention requirements, create data dictionaries, and data flow diagrams to ensure compliance with privacy laws. - Create first drafts of PHI internal policies and customer-facing consent forms, Privacy/ Trust Statement under the guidance of Legal Manager and Group Wide Information Security & Privacy. - Review existing contracts for mandatory IRDAI and Privacy clauses. - Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to integrate feedback into drafts. - Help drive an awareness campaign within Prudential India/ PHI for privacy by design awareness through customized workshops for marketing, technology, and products team. Qualification Required: - JD, LL.B., or equivalent degree from a recognized law college. - Prior internship experience in in-house or at a law firm with privacy and cybersecurity specialization. - Ability to communicate effectively in English language. - Ability to use MS Office Suite effectively. - Excellent research capabilities.
