Lead UI/UX Designer
You will work closely with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to transform ideas into world-class interfaces combining usability, accessibility, and aesthetics.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of UI/UX designers, ensuring consistent design standards and best practices across all projects.
- Establish and maintain design systems, interaction patterns, and brand consistency across platforms.
- Translate product vision and business requirements into cohesive design strategies.
User Experience & Research:
- Conduct or oversee user research, persona development, and usability testing to inform design decisions.
- Define user journeys, information architecture, and interaction flows for complex products.
- Advocate for user-centric design principles and accessibility standards.
UI Design & Prototyping:
- Create high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and interaction animations using Figma, Adobe XD, or similar tools.
- Design responsive layouts for web and mobile interfaces that align with development feasibility.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation and seamless interaction.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Product Managers and Engineers to define product requirements, prioritize user experience, and deliver on deadlines.
- Present design strategies and rationale to stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
- Contribute to Agile sprint planning and ensure design deliverables align with release goals.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on emerging design technologies, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Introduce design reviews, A/B testing, and data-driven iteration processes.
- Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous learning within the design team.
Required Skills & Expertise:
- 4 - 9 years of hands-on UI/UX design experience, including 1+ years in a lead or senior role.
- Expertise in
Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Axure, Photoshop, Illustrator
. - Proven experience in
responsive design, design systems, prototyping, and usability testing
. - Solid understanding of
HTML/CSS/JS fundamentals
and how design translates to code. - Strong visual design sense with attention to typography, color, and layout.
- Experience working in
Agile or Lean product environments
. - Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Preferably from startup companies.
Candidates with prior experience in startup environments are preferred.
