Job Description

Leadership & Team Management

o Lead, mentor, and manage a team of SAP Basis administrators.
o Ensure effective workload distribution, incident management, and escalations.
o Drive adherence to ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).

 

SAP Basis Administration

o Manage and support SAP S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, HANA Database, and associated components.
o Perform system installations, upgrades, migrations, and patching.
o Manage system refreshes, client copies, and transport management.
o Ensure performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning of SAP systems.

 

Solution Manager (SolMan) & GRC

o Implement, configure, and maintain SAP Solution Manager functionalities including ChaRM, Monitoring, EWA, and System Landscape Directory.
o Manage and maintain SAP GRC for access controls, user provisioning, and compliance monitoring.

 

SAP Cloud & Integration Platforms

o Support and manage SAP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration), SAP Web Dispatcher, Fiori, and other web-based SAP applications.
o Ensure integration and connectivity between on-prem and cloud systems.
Governance, Security & Compliance
o Implement best practices for SAP system security, backups, and disaster recovery.
o Collaborate with the security team to manage user roles, authorizations, and compliance.
o Ensure adherence to audit requirements and IT security standards.

 

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

o Work closely with SAP functional, development, and infrastructure teams.
o Partner with vendors and managed service providers for escalations and support.
o Provide regular updates to IT leadership on system health, performance, and risks

Preferred Certifications
SAP Certified Technology Associate in S/4HANA and/or HANA DB.
SAP Solution Manager or SAP GRC certifications (preferred).
ITIL V3/V4 Foundation or higher.
Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, GCP) would be a plus.
 
Automation & Innovation
  • Identify and eliminate waste caused by repetitive manual activities by introducing automation tools, scripts, or workflow enhancements.
  • Work with the ASM partner and internal teams to embed automation in service operations wherever feasible.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, leveraging modern tools and techniques to improve service reliability and speed.
Collaboration & Governance
  • Collaborate with the Service Owner to align service delivery with strategic objectives and business priorities.
  • Work closely with the Product Owner to support service refinement as part of the broader product lifecycle.
  • Actively participate in CABs, service review boards, and incident/post-incident review sessions to maintain governance and accountability.
  • Coordinate resolution across squads, infrastructure, and partner teams to address cross-functional issues.
Continuous Improvement
  • Track service metrics and trends to proactively identify and resolve underlying systemic issues.
  • Lead root cause analysis for major incidents and implement preventive measures.
  • Promote LEAN principles to create a culture of continuous improvement within the SAP service domain.
People & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Mentor and coach team members on service practices and the importance of operational discipline.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders by translating technical service details into meaningful business language.
  • Promote knowledge sharing across teams to improve support coverage and resilience.
Planning and Execution
  • Contribute to sprint, release, and capacity planning from a service readiness perspective.
  • Ensure readiness of service documentation, runbooks, monitoring tools, and escalation procedures.
  • Maintain an accurate and current service catalogue and participate in roadmap and portfolio discussions.
Financial management
  • Responsible for cost optimisation by executing service improvement plans
