Lead System Engineer - Networking

As a Lead System Engineer - Networking at Barco, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructure globally, including Local LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, switches, and security systems. You will work closely with the Infrastructure Architect to propose and define roadmaps, resolve complex network issues, configure and monitor firewalls, and optimize Wi-Fi networks for performance and coverage. Additionally, you will be involved in documentation, reporting, and coordinating with vendors for hardware/software support. - Network Design & Implementation: - Propose and define roadmaps with the Infrastructure Architect. - Design, deploy, and maintain Local LAN infrastructure, WAN, and SD-WAN solutions. - Implement advanced routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP. - Configure and optimize Wi-Fi networks for performance and coverage. - Configure and manage enterprise switches, routers, and firewalls for seamless connectivity. - Experience in cloud networking (Azure, AWS, GCP) is a plus. - Knowledge of zero-trust security models or SASE frameworks. - Advanced Troubleshooting: - Resolve complex network issues across LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and Wi-Fi. - Work closely with local teams to resolve network issues and ensure smooth operations. - Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes. - Security Management: - Configure and monitor firewalls and security policies. - Implement and manage VPNs, ACLs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. - Wi-Fi Management: - Design and troubleshoot enterprise-grade Wi-Fi networks. - Conduct site surveys and optimize high-density environments. - Documentation & Reporting: - Maintain detailed network diagrams, configurations, and security policies. - Coordinate with vendors for hardware/software support. Qualifications Required: - B.Tech./B.E/M.Tech in computer science or equivalent stream. - Desired experience range of 6+ years. Preferred Skills and Experience: - Advanced knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, QoS). - Expertise with network hardware (Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto etc.). - Proficient in Wi-Fi design and troubleshooting (WLC controllers, access points). - Strong firewall and security management skills (IPsec, SSL VPNs, IDS/IPS). - Familiarity with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark, NetFlow). - Scripting/automation skills (Python, Ansible) are a plus.,
