Lead PostgreSQL Database Administrator

You will be responsible for overseeing the robustness and security of the database infrastructure at FPL Technologies as a Lead Database Administrator (PostgreSQL DBA). Your key responsibilities will include: - Collaborating with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to identify database system requirements and performance objectives. - Scheduling and coordinating database maintenance activities, such as backups, upgrades, and patch deployments. - Designing and implementing database schemas, indexes, and query optimization strategies to maximize performance and scalability. - Planning and executing database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing, to protect sensitive financial data. - Monitoring and evaluating database system performance and health, proactively identifying and addressing issues to minimize downtime and ensure reliability. - Providing training and mentorship to junior DBAs and team members to enhance their skills and knowledge. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. - Certification in PostgreSQL administration or related technologies is a plus. - Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL database administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. - Experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing techniques. - Familiarity with database security best practices and regulatory compliance requirements like PCI-DSS and GDPR.
