Responsible To: Product Design & Development Manager, Group RTPE (Relay, Train Protection, Energy)
Hours / Location: 40 per week / WITEC (Bangalore, India)
Main Purpose Lead Testing Engineer to oversee the testing and validation of our electromechanical components, including relays, contactors, MCBs, and other low-voltage switchgear. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing electromechanical devices and a deep understanding of international standards.
Responsibilities
Experience in verification and Validation of Low voltage switchgear products
like Relays or similar products Strong knowledge on Lab instruments like Power source, Oscilloscope, Data loggers etc Develop comprehensive testing and validation plans for new and existing electromechanical components Identify and document boundary conditions and worst-case scenarios to ensure thorough testing Oversee the execution of testing and analyze results to identify potential issues or areas for improvement Create detailed test reports documenting test procedures, results, and recommendations Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality, to ensure seamless integration of testing requirements Stay up to date with the latest industry standards and regulations, and ensure compliance throughout the testing process Mentor and train junior testing engineers to build a strong, knowledgeable team Provide detailed reports and recommendations to management on the performance and reliability of tested components
Minimum Qualifications /Professional Experience Bachelor s / Master s Degree in Electrical / Electronic / Electromechanical or in STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent. 8+ years of experience in testing and validating electromechanical components, with a focus on relays, contactors, MCBs, and other low-voltage switchgear . Competencies Professional / Personal Thorough understanding of international standards and regulations governing the testing of electromechanical devices Proficient in developing and executing comprehensive testing plans, including the identification of boundary conditions and worst-case scenarios Experienced in executing complex test procedures and creating detailed test reports Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret test results and identify areas for improvement Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Strong influencing skills, strong communication skills with good command of English, and demonstrated analytical skills. Highly dynamic, proactive and motivated, self-motivated, open minded Need to travel on occasionally within India and abroad. Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools Strong technical writing and presentation skills
