Lead Engineer Java

As a Lead Engineer - Java in the Product & Technology department located in Kochi (Hybrid), your role involves taking overall responsibility for the quality of the product area covered by your team. Your key responsibilities include: - Providing leadership and day-to-day line management of a team of java and test engineers, including coaching and mentoring of individual team members. - Promoting best practices to raise standards continually and challenging team members to find their own solutions. - Collaborating with other engineering teams and product owners to ensure successful and robust execution of seamless integration of data between multiple systems. - Role modeling the use of Azure DevOps (ADO) for accurate completion to promote continuous improvement. - Ensuring the team follows the SCRUM agile methodology, adhering to all ceremonies such as planning, retrospectives, and demos. - Suggesting and developing improvements to the current product offering. - Responding appropriately and competently to work challenges, changes, ambiguity, adversity, and other pressures. - Actively undertaking research and development to enhance areas of the ZIP application suite. - Providing 2nd line support to the application and technical support teams. Essential Knowledge / Skills / Behavior required for this role include: - At least three years of experience leading an engineering team using Agile methodologies. - Strong experience in developing with technologies such as Java (version 11 and later), Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Security, JPA, Kafka Connect, Azure Cloud, REST APIs, ODATA protocol, OAUTH authentication, JUNIT, Mokito, Karate, Cucumber, Docker, Kubernetes, and Postman. - Good experience in using Structured Query Language (SQL) and some experience in HELM and Terraform. - Good analytical and proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend solutions. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to work well and calmly under pressure with both internal and external stakeholders.
