Job Description

As a Disaster Risk Reduction Specialist, your role involves planning and preparing for contingencies by developing Disaster Risk Reduction and Disaster Mitigation Plans. You will be responsible for building the capacities of NGOs, CBOs, Youths, and other key stakeholders in Disaster preparedness and mitigation. Your key responsibilities will include: - Conducting disaster risk assessments and Hazard Risk Vulnerability Assessment (HRVA) in disaster hotspots - Developing plans to reduce damage caused by natural hazards like floods, droughts, and cyclones - Identifying vulnerable locations and mobilizing communities in high climate vulnerable districts for program intervention - Providing training to communities and stakeholders in Disaster preparedness and Mitigation - Collaborating with grassroots and community stakeholders for effective implementation of standard operating procedures-based disaster preparedness and mitigation - Capacity building for selected individuals (volunteers) in Disaster Risk Reduction - Building partnerships with various stakeholders for the effective implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction initiatives Qualifications required for this role include a Graduation or Post Graduation in Climate Change, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or Disaster Management. Additionally, you should have 8-10 years of relevant experience in the field.
