Job Description


The Role:

We are looking for a

Lead Database Ops engineer

to manage, monitor and tune our MySQL clusters setup on AWS Aurora.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the performance of production database clusters
  • Mitigate performance incidents due to database performance by working with respective teams.
  • Plan and execute database engine and size upgrades by working with Devops and support teams
  • Work with release team to ensure there is no risk and impact on database clusters post changes.
  • Provision clusters and manage scaling needs.
  • Execute Data migration projects
  • Communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization

Key Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in deployment, monitoring, tuning and administration of high concurrency MySQL production databases.
  • Understanding of key MySQL database parameters
  • Understanding of AWS, VPC, networking, security groups, IAM and roles.
  • Working experience in AWS RDS MySQL, preferably Aurora
  • Excellent communication skills.
