Job Description

AI/ML Lead

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced AI/ML Lead to drive our artificial intelligence and machine learning initiatives. This role combines technical leadership with strategic vision to build and scale AI/ML solutions that deliver measurable business impact. The ideal candidate will lead a team of data scientists and ML engineers while collaborating cross-functionally to identify opportunities and implement cutting-edge AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models and AI systems at scale
  • Establish best practices for ML model development, testing, validation, and monitoring
  • Drive technical decision-making for ML architecture, tooling, and infrastructure
  • Ensure models meet performance, reliability, and scalability requirements
  • Implement MLOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for ML workflows

Team Management & Development

  • Manage and mentor a team of data scientists, ML engineers, and AI researchers
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard top AI/ML talent
  • Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional development
  • Foster a collaborative culture of innovation and continuous learning
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and business stakeholders

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Define AI/ML strategy aligned with business objectives and priorities
  • Identify high-impact use cases and opportunities for AI/ML applications
  • Develop roadmaps for AI/ML initiatives and communicate progress to leadership
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and research to drive innovation
  • Partner with product teams to integrate AI capabilities into products

Research & Development

  • Stay current with latest developments in AI/ML research and industry trends
  • Drive experimentation with new algorithms, techniques, and technologies
  • Publish research findings and represent the company at conferences and industry events
  • Build partnerships with academic institutions and research organizations

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors, Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in machine learning, data science, or AI development
  • 3+ years of experience leading technical teams or projects
  • Proven track record of deploying ML models in production environments

Technical Skills

  • Expert-level proficiency in Python, R, or similar languages for data science
  • Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical methods, and model evaluation
  • Experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, etc.)
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and ML services
  • Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, etc.)
  • Knowledge of MLOps tools and practices (MLflow, Kubeflow, etc.)
  • Strong software engineering skills and version control (Git)

Leadership & Communication

  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects
  • Proven ability to drive results in fast-paced, dynamic environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in search and recommendation systems
  • Knowledge of deep learning, computer vision, NLP, or reinforcement learning
  • Experience with edge computing and model optimization
  • Experience with A/B testing and experimental design
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and ethical AI practices
