Job Description

As a Control Room Engineer/Lead Desk Engineer/Lead FGD/Switchyard Engineer at Adani Power Limited (APL), your primary responsibility will be to monitor and operate plant systems, including Boiler, Turbine, Generator, BOP, switchyard, and transformer area to ensure their optimal performance. You will be in charge of executing necessary start-up and shut-down procedures and maintaining a close observation of plant parameters to respond promptly to any deviations. In addition, you will be responsible for handling plant emergencies related to Boiler-Turbine-Generator (BTG) and switchyards, and coordinating responses effectively to minimize operational impact. Your role will also involve performing and monitoring Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) operations, maintaining equipment, promoting energy conservation, and ensuring environmental compliance. You will play a crucial part in promoting energy conservation across all activities, focusing on Specific Oil Consumption (SOC), Auxiliary Power Consumption (APC), Demineralized (DM) Water usage, and Heat Rate. Moreover, it will be essential for you to monitor critical chemistry parameters to ensure environmental compliance and operational efficiency. To ensure business sustainability, you will need to adhere to IMS, AWMS, DISHA, CHETNA guidelines within the department, maintain safety of personnel and equipment through proper training and adherence to safety protocols, follow Permit to Work (PTW) systems and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and report any defects or problems in the plant to the shift in charge promptly. Additionally, you will be expected to contribute to the digitization and automation processes by executing comprehensive strategies to optimize operational efficiency, implementing automation solutions, and driving process and system improvements by adopting newer technologies and innovative ideas. To qualify for this role, you must hold a BE/B.Tech degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in power plant operations, particularly with a focus on thermal power plants. Previous experience in the power generation industry, specifically with thermal power plants, is highly preferred for this position.,
