As a Lead Android Engineer at our organization, you will be part of a dynamic team working on cutting-edge digital health solutions. Here is a breakdown of what you can expect in this role: **Role Overview:** You will be responsible for leading the development and maintenance of robust and scalable Android application modules for our flagship digital health solution, the Community Health Integrated Platform (CHIP). Working closely with a diverse technical team, you will play a key role in sustaining existing solutions and building innovative features to enhance the platform's capabilities. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead a team of developers to ensure the successful implementation of various projects - Utilize your expertise in Android Studio, Android SDKs, Kotlin, and frameworks to deliver high-quality solutions - Collaborate with backend developers, designers, and other team members to architect well-structured applications - Stay updated on the latest technologies and implement them to improve development efficiency - Apply industry-standard design patterns and operating system fundamentals in your work - Enhance user engagement by understanding end users" needs and continuously improving the product - Work closely with stakeholders to meet project deadlines and deliver impactful solutions **Qualifications Required:** - 5+ years of experience in developing Android applications - More than 3 years of experience in leading a team of developers - Proficiency in Android Studio/Android SDKs, Kotlin, and frameworks - Strong understanding of operating system fundamentals, multithreading, and system resource planning - Experience with Web Services, data parsing using JSON, XML, etc. - Knowledge of OO designs, database design, data structures, and algorithms - Familiarity with Agile best practices and managing individual task deliverables In addition to the technical qualifications, we also value candidates with a background in public health, ICT4D, and experience with digital health standard frameworks.
