Lathe Machine operator (Turner)

As a Lathe Machine Operator (Turner) with 4 to 5 years of experience, you will be responsible for operating lathes to create cylindrical shapes, cut threads, and perform other turning operations. Your key responsibilities will include: - Operating Lathes: Utilizing lathes to perform turning operations such as creating cylindrical shapes and cutting threads. - Setting Up Machines: Preparing lathes and other turning machines for specific tasks by selecting appropriate cutting tools and setting machine parameters. - Reading and Interpreting Drawings: Understanding and following engineering drawings to ensure accurate part dimensions and specifications. - Quality Control: Measuring and inspecting finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. - Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on lathes and other turning equipment. - Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues that arise during the turning process. - Collaboration: Working with engineers, designers, and other production personnel to achieve project goals. Qualifications required for this role include: - ITI certification in Turner or a relevant discipline. - Proven experience as a Turner or in a similar role. - Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings. - Strong mechanical aptitude. - Attention to detail and precision. - Good understanding of safety procedures.
