Position: Landscape Supervisor

Reporting To: Landscape Engineer / Project Manager

1. Job Purpose

The Landscape Supervisor oversees daily landscape maintenance and horticultural activities, ensuring high-quality upkeep of gardens, lawns, parks, and outdoor green areas. This role ensures work is completed efficiently, safely, and according to project standards.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Site Supervision & Operations

• Supervise and coordinate landscaping teams including gardeners, irrigation workers, and helpers.
• Oversee maintenance of lawns, plants, trees, shrubs, and flowerbeds.
• Ensure timely completion of watering, pruning, trimming, mowing, mulching, and pest control tasks.
• Monitor overall site cleanliness, plant health, and aesthetic standards.

B. Irrigation & Plant Care

• Inspect and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution.
• Identify plant diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies and take corrective actions.
• Recommend plant replacements, fertilizers, and seasonal maintenance activities.

C. Workforce Management

• Allocate daily duties to landscape staff and supervise work performance.
• Provide training on horticulture techniques and safe equipment use.
• Maintain attendance and work progress reports for the team.

D. Equipment & Material Management

• Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools such as trimmers, mowers, blowers, and irrigation equipment.
• Monitor inventory of fertilizers, pesticides, tools, and plant materials.
• Raise material requests and report damaged or missing tools.

E. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with workplace safety rules and PPE usage.
• Report hazards, unsafe practices, or incidents to management.
• Maintain a safe working environment for staff and visitors.

3. Qualifications & ExperienceEducation:

• Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related field (preferred).

Experience:

• 3–5 years’ experience in landscaping or horticulture (Gulf experience preferred).
• Experience supervising teams in landscape maintenance or softscape works.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of plants, soil types, fertilizers, and irrigation systems.
• Ability to diagnose plant health issues.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to read basic landscape drawings (added advantage).
• Valid driving license (as required by employer).
