Laboratory Technician

As a Laboratory Technician, your role involves various primary responsibilities: - **Technical**: - Collect patient samples and perform barcoding. - Operate, maintain, and analyze patient samples, calibrators, and controls on specified instruments. - Perform internal quality control according to the defined schedule. - Handle, prepare, and maintain calibrators and controls as required. - Perform ILC, EQAS, and PT samples. - Monitor and maintain accurate testing conditions, including room and refrigerator temperatures. - **Quality**: - Attend training programs related to quality and technical aspects of the laboratory. - Familiarize yourself with quality and technical SOPs and implement them. - Ensure that quality assurance practices are followed, including daily quality control, equipment maintenance, and test repeats. - **Operations**: - Provide stock status to the Lab manager when needed. - Operate in assigned shifts. - Handle and maintain reagents, calibrators, and controls in safe conditions. - Familiarize yourself with the Department of Operations of the laboratory. - Retain and dispose of samples safely and maintain records accordingly. - **LIS**: - Collect samples and accept barcodes. - Validate results after reviewing raw data and internal quality control. - **Safety**: - Follow safety, PPE, and Biomedical waste management guidelines. - Maintain a clean and hygienic working environment. - Report any needle stick injuries to the Pathologist or Lab Manager. - **Confidentiality**: - Maintain confidentiality of all information gained during employment.
