Laboratory Technician

• Collect, prepare, and process patient specimens (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) for analysis
• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests following standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and analyzers
• Record, verify, and interpret test results accurately in the laboratory information system (LIS)
• Ensure all testing meets hospital quality assurance and infection control standards
• Communicate critical results promptly to physicians or nursing staff
• Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and records of all tests performed
• Follow all safety, biohazard, and confidentiality protocols
• Participate in internal and external quality control programs and proficiency testing

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
• Valid Punjab Laboratory Technician Certification from a recognization institute
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a clinical or hospital laboratory preferred
• Knowledge of hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and serology testing procedures
• Proficiency with laboratory analyzers, microscopes, and computerized lab systems
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy under time-sensitive conditions
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
