Job Title: Laboratory Information System Assistant

Department: IT/Clinical Laboratory

SUMMARY: Required to perform all duties listed under Lab Information System Assistant. Will assist LIS Coordinator and clinical analyst in any lab related projects, interfaces and system maintenance. Performs L.I.S. system related task that is designated by L.I.S. Coordinator. Will be covering after hours call for any lab issues as needed. Demonstrates cooperation and teamwork with all IT and Laboratory staff, shifts and sections to ensure efficient operation of the department.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the prompt receipt andaccurate processing of laboratory specimens in Front Office Triage including preparing and processing send-outs. Maintains a clean and orderly work area and adequate supply inventory. Sets up certain manual tests and procedures as allowed under the direct supervision of a CLS.

Is highly organized and performs duties in a manner that assures time schedules are consistently met. Recognizes the need for rapid results for ER, OR, critical care units as well as STATs from other areas. Utilizes the LIS properly and efficiently. Insures that LIS reports are generated on time and distributed to appropriate staff. Reports problems promptly to supervisors and assists in their resolution.

LIS System Maintenance

- Daily Maintenance check, document, troubleshooting:

- Interfaces Hardware

LIS Billing

- Post charge/credit as needed

- Maintenance of LIS Billing information

Assist with LIS routine maintenance

- Reference Lab Database update

- Cleanup of pending records

- In-house database update as needed.

LIS Troubleshooting

- HIS/LIS transactions

- LIS interfaces to instruments

- Basic server troubleshooting

- Hardware (i.e. Printers, Barcode Label Printer, etc.)

Assist with LIS project as needed and completed on a timely manner.

LIS off hours on call responsibilities

Train/Assist users with any system functionalities for (ALAB, Novopath, SafeTx) as needed

Participates actively in problem solving and quality assurance activities. Identifies opportunities for improvement and communicates these to the appropriate level of management within the lab. Reports and documents problems promptly and thoroughly using appropriate forms as necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Gota, Ahmedabad, Gujarat: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
