Job Overview

Kaiser Industries Limited is seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant for a full-time position at our Samba location. This junior position requires a minimum of 1-year work experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in laboratory practices and a desire to contribute effectively to our research and development initiatives. The candidate should have experience in a chemical factory or lab.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficiency in PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) to carry out amplification and analysis of DNA sequences (Mandatory skill).
• Expertise in mass spectrometry for quantitative and qualitative analysis of chemical compounds (Mandatory skill).
• Hands-on experience using microscopy for analyzing chemical and biological samples (Mandatory skill).
• Knowledge of ELISA techniques for detecting and quantifying soluble substances like proteins and hormones.
• Capability in cell culture techniques for maintaining and utilizing living cells in lab environments.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) to efficiently handle lab data.
• Experience with autoclave equipment for sterilizing laboratory tools and equipment.
• Proficiency in data analysis software, such as GraphPad Prism or R, for interpreting lab results.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
• Conduct experiments and analyses using PCR, mass spectrometry, and microscopy techniques.
• Prepare and maintain cell cultures and conduct ELISA tests as required for research projects.
• Ensure proper data management using Laboratory Information Management Systems.
• Coordinate with the R&D team to support new product development and testing procedures.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain cleanliness and order in the laboratory environment.
• Document all experimental processes and results accurately for further analysis and record-keeping.
• Provide technical support and training to junior laboratory staff as necessary.
