Lab Chemist

As a skilled and motivated Chemist, you will be joining our team to focus on water and wastewater treatment processes. You should have a strong foundation in analytical chemistry and environmental science, along with hands-on experience in laboratory testing and process optimization within water treatment facilities. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct routine and advanced chemical analyses of water and wastewater samples, including parameters such as: - Ion analysis - Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) - Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) - Total Suspended Solids (TSS) - Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids (MLSS) - Oxygen Uptake Rate (OUR) - Sludge Volume Index (SVI) - pH, alkalinity, hardness, and other physicochemical parameters - Perform jar tests to simulate coagulation, flocculation, and sedimentation processes, optimizing chemical dosages and pH levels for effective treatment. - Assist in the selection and dosage calculation of coagulants, flocculants, and disinfectants to enhance treatment efficiency. - Monitor and analyze biological treatment parameters to ensure optimal microbial activity and system performance. - Ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols and regulatory standards in all laboratory procedures. - Maintain accurate records of test results, prepare reports, and contribute to process performance evaluations. - Work closely with plant operators and engineers to provide analytical support and recommend improvements. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field. - Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within a water or wastewater treatment plant. - Proficiency in laboratory techniques and instrumentation. - Knowledge of water quality standards and regulatory requirements. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
