Responsibilities and Duties: Preparation and Maintenance: Prepare materials and equipment needed for science experiments and practical lessons. Ensure all lab equipment is clean, functional, and properly stored after use. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on lab equipment. Safety and Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and chemical hygiene plans. Maintain up-to-date Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals and hazardous materials. Conduct regular safety audits and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. Inventory Management: Keep track of lab supplies and equipment. Order and restock items as necessary, ensuring the availability of necessary materials for classes and experiments. Manage chemical storage according to safety standards. Support in Teaching: Assist teachers during lab sessions by setting up equipment and explaining the use of laboratory tools to students. Demonstrate proper laboratory techniques. Help students with the setup and execution of their experiments. Documentation and Records: Maintain accurate records of lab activities, equipment logs, and inventory lists. Document student lab performance and incidents to ensure compliance with school policies. Cleaning and Waste Disposal: Ensure the lab is clean and organized at all times. Properly dispose of waste materials and chemicals according to environmental safety regulations. Qualifications: Diploma or degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Biology). Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in an educational environment. Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and standards. Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students and staff. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety.
