L3 Network Engineer

Role Overview: You will be responsible for providing technical support for network-related issues escalated from Level 1 and L2 support engineers. Your role will involve troubleshooting and resolving issues with network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Additionally, you will work with internal teams or vendors to identify and resolve network problems related to connectivity, configuration, performance, and security. Key Responsibilities: - Configure and deploy network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and other infrastructure devices. - Implement and manage Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), IP addressing, and subnetting. - Continuously monitor network performance to identify potential issues or bottlenecks. - Assist in maintaining network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and access control lists (ACLs). - Maintain accurate network documentation such as IP address schemes, network diagrams, and configurations. - Participate in network capacity planning and suggest improvements to enhance network efficiency, performance, and scalability. - Stay updated with the latest networking technologies and apply them to improve operations. Qualifications Required: - Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, BGP, etc.). - Experience with configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. - Knowledge of network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Wireshark). - Basic understanding of network security principles and tools. - Experience with wireless networks and cloud-based networking (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
