L2 Network Engineer

The role of Network Engineer requires a candidate with 4-7 years of hands-on experience in network engineering and infrastructure support, particularly focusing on routing, switching, and firewall technologies. The ideal candidate should have in-depth technical knowledge of Juniper, Cisco, and F5 environments, as well as a strong understanding of network security, segmentation, and compliance frameworks like PCI/PII. As a Network Engineer, your key responsibilities will include managing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure components such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. You will be working with Juniper SRX firewalls and Cisco/Arista switching platforms, with a proficiency in BGP routing protocols. Additionally, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining F5 load balancers to ensure scalable and resilient network services. In this role, you will design and implement LAN/WAN infrastructure, focusing on network performance, reliability, and security. You will also develop and enforce network segmentation strategies to enhance the overall security posture. Building firewall rules and policies, especially in alignment with PCI and PII compliance requirements, will be a crucial part of your responsibilities. You will support high-availability, carrier-grade network environments with a strong emphasis on uptime and fault tolerance. Collaborating with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines and network automation initiatives will also be part of your role. Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing clear updates and documentation, is essential. To excel in this role, you should possess proficiency in Juniper (especially SRX), Cisco, and/or Arista networking platforms. A deep understanding of routing protocols, especially BGP, and switching technologies is required. Strong experience with F5 load balancers and firewall policy configuration is essential. Familiarity with LAN/WAN technologies, network segmentation, and compliance standards such as PCI and PII is expected. Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD, or network automation practices would be advantageous. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for engaging with cross-functional teams effectively.
