Kitchen Staff

Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation Assistance:

  • Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients.
  • Measure and portion ingredients accurately according to recipes and chef instructions.
  • Prepare basic items like salads, sandwiches, or simple appetizers as directed.

  • Kitchen Operations Support:

  • Help with the receiving, storing, and organizing of food supplies and inventory, ensuring proper rotation and minimizing waste.
  • Retrieve ingredients from storage areas as needed for food preparation.
  • Assist with plating and garnishing dishes before they are served.

  • Cleanliness & Hygiene:

  • Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
  • Wash and sanitize pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Clean work surfaces, floors, and common areas of the kitchen regularly.
  • Ensure proper waste disposal and recycling practices.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations (

    FSSAI guidelines

    ).

  • Equipment Operation & Maintenance:

  • Operate basic kitchen equipment safely (e.g., blenders, mixers, slicers) after proper training.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor promptly.

  • Team Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely service.
  • Follow instructions from senior kitchen staff and supervisors efficiently.

  • Adherence to Standards:

  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
