Key Responsibilities

• Precisely set stones, pearls, and motifs into silver jewelry using claw, bezel, channel, pavé, and prong setting methods.
• Inspect and prepare jewelry components for setting, including polishing, filing, and pre-setting adjustments.
• Operate hand tools, engraving machines, and laser setters to achieve flawless results on intricate designs.
• Collaborate with designers and goldsmiths to interpret sketches and prototypes, ensuring designs are executable.
• Perform quality checks for stone security, alignment, and overall aesthetic appeal before final polishing.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and adhere to safety protocols for handling tools and materials.
• Train junior karigars and support production targets to meet daily/weekly quotas.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 3+ years of hands-on experience as a jewellery setter, preferably in silver or fine jewelry.
• Expertise in various stone-setting techniques and familiarity with silver alloys.
• Proficiency with tools like gravers, pliers, soldering equipment, and microscope-assisted setting.
• Keen eye for detail, steady hands, and ability to work on fine, micro-settings.
• Knowledge of gemstone properties (e.g., hardness, cutting styles) to prevent damage during setting.
• Ability to read technical drawings and work under deadlines in a fast-paced workshop.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification from a recognized jewellery institute (e.g., GIA or Indian Gems & Jewellery Council).
• Experience with CAD/CAM software for digital prototyping.
• Basic knowledge of engraving and enameling for enhanced designs.
