Job Description

As an experienced Substation Technician, your role will involve inspecting, testing, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of substation equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, relays, and control systems. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing electrical faults to ensure the continuous and safe operation of substations. Additionally, maintaining detailed logs and records of inspections, tests, repairs, and equipment performance will be a key part of your daily tasks. It is crucial that you adhere strictly to electrical safety protocols and regulatory standards while working on high-voltage systems. Collaboration is essential in this role, as you will need to coordinate with engineers, utility operators, and other technicians during routine maintenance and emergency repair work. Furthermore, you will be expected to conduct grounding checks, oil sampling, insulation resistance tests, and thermal imaging as part of scheduled maintenance. In addition, you may be required to assist in substation upgrades, equipment installations, and system modifications as needed.
