Junior Desktop Support Engineer

Job Description:

Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:

Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues: This includes identifying the root cause of problems, testing solutions, and escalating complex issues to the appropriate teams.

Responding to user tickets: Addressing user-reported issues via phone, email, remote access, or in person.

Conducting remote troubleshooting: Minimizing downtime by resolving issues remotely when possible.

Maintaining and upgrading hardware and software: Ensuring systems are up-to-date and functioning optimally.

Testing and monitoring network connections: Ensuring reliable network performance.

Documenting issues and solutions: Maintaining records in a ticketing system.

System Administration & Maintenance:

Installing and configuring computer hardware and software: Setting up new workstations and peripherals.

Managing user accounts and permissions: Ensuring proper access control.

Performing system backups and recovery: Protecting data and ensuring business continuity.

Applying patches and updates: Maintaining system security and stability.

User Support & Training:

Providing basic training to users: Equipping them to troubleshoot common issues themselves.

Assisting new employees with setup: Getting them up and running with their workstations.

Ensuring users are aware of IT policies and procedures: Helping them understand how to use technology effectively.

Escalating complex issues to specialized teams: Ensuring users receive the appropriate level of support.

Other Responsibilities:

Maintaining an inventory of IT equipment: Managing hardware and software assets.

Developing technical solutions: Improving efficiency and productivity.

Staying up-to-date on technology trends: Keeping skills current and relevant.

Minimum one year experience is required of above skills.
