Job Description

As a Fashion Designer for leather goods, your role involves the following key responsibilities: - Trend Research & Concept Development: - Analyzing current fashion trends, consumer preferences, and market demands to develop innovative design concepts. - Sketching & Prototyping: - Creating detailed sketches, technical drawings, and specifications for new designs, which may involve collaborating with pattern makers and sample rooms to develop prototypes. - Material Selection: - Selecting appropriate leathers, hardware, linings, and other components while considering aspects like quality, durability, cost, and aesthetic appeal. - Collaboration: - Working closely with product development, merchandising, production, and sales teams to ensure that designs are feasible and align with the brand vision and market needs. The required skills and qualifications for this role typically include: - Strong portfolio showcasing creative design abilities and technical proficiency in leather goods. - Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD programs, etc. - In-depth knowledge of various leather types, textiles, materials, and hardware. - Understanding of manufacturing techniques, pattern making, and construction of leather goods. - Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. - A degree in Fashion Design or a related field is often preferred.
