Job Description - ior Consultant / Senior Consultant (Non HOD role) ( Histopathology )

Position Title: Consultant - Histopathology Reports To: Lab director / Clinical director Department: Histopathology

Key Roles & Responsibilities : Clinical & Diagnostic Services

Perform gross examination and reporting of biopsyresectioncytologyFNACand pap smear specimens

Participate in intraoperative frozen section reporting and immunohistochemistry interpretation

Ensure accuracyqualityand timely release of pathology reports

Support multidisciplinary team meetings and tumor boards

Quality & Compliance

Adhere to departmental SOPsNABLCAPNABHand JCI guidelines

Maintain quality control and assurance in routine reporting

Ensure documentation and reporting accuracy in line with accreditation requirements

Academic & Research

Mentor residents and fellowship trainees in diagnostic pathology

Contribute to academic activitiesteaching sessionsand case discussions

Participate in research projects and publications under departmental guidance

Collaboration & Patient Care

Work in close coordination with clinicianssurgeonsand oncologists for integrated patient care

Provide diagnostic inputs and support for specialized testing when required

Professional Development : Keep up with advances in pathology and adopt best practices
Participate in departmental CME programsworkshopsand conferences
