Key Responsibilities: Perform detailed examination and interpretation of histological and cytological specimens including biopsies, surgical specimens, FNACs, and exfoliative cytology. Perform grossing under supervision (if applicable) and process tissue samples using standard histopathology techniques. Embed tissue in paraffin blocks, section them using microtomes, and mount onto slides. Carry out routine and special stains (e.g., H&E, PAS, ZN, etc.) as required by the pathologist. Maintain and calibrate histology lab equipment (microtome, embedding station, staining machine, etc.). Follow proper quality control, infection control, and safety protocols. Assist the pathologist during frozen section procedures and ensure timely turnaround. Maintain daily logs, inventory, and reagent usage records. Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of workstations and instruments.
