Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant / Accounting Assistant to join our growing finance team. This role is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a foundational understanding of accounting principles to gain practical experience and develop their career. The successful candidate will provide essential support to the accounting department, ensuring accurate data entry, record-keeping, and assistance with various financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Entry & Record Keeping:

  • Accurately enter financial transactions into accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, basic ERP modules).
  • Maintain organized and systematic financial records, including invoices, receipts, and bank statements.
  • Process and file accounts payable (vendor invoices) and accounts receivable (customer payments).
  • Reconciliations & Verification:

  • Assist with basic bank reconciliations, ensuring consistency between bank statements and company records.
  • Verify the accuracy of financial data and resolve simple discrepancies.
  • Support in reconciling petty cash and employee expense reports.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable Support:

  • Prepare and process invoices for customers and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Assist in preparing payment runs for vendors and managing vendor inquiries.
  • General Accounting Support:

  • Assist in the preparation of journal entries under supervision.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes by gathering necessary documentation and data.
  • Help with the preparation of basic financial reports, schedules, and summaries as required.
  • Handle general administrative tasks for the finance department, such as photocopying, scanning, and filing.
  • Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure proper documentation is maintained for all financial transactions for audit purposes.
  • Assist with basic tax-related documentation (e.g., GST, TDS preparation).
  • Collaboration:

  • Work closely with senior accountants and other team members to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments regarding financial queries.
