Jr. Executive - Pharmacy

Role & responsibilities

Medication Dispensing:

1. Assist in the accurate and safe dispensing of medications to patients as per physician orders.

2. Ensure proper labeling and packaging of medications.

Medication Inventory:

1. Assist in managing the hospital's medication inventory; including ordering, receiving and maintaining appropriate stock levels. Help with tracking and managing expired or recalled drugs.

Prescription Review:

1. Assist in reviewing medication orders and prescriptions to verify accuracy, safety and appropriateness of drug therapy. Check for potential drug interactions and allergies.

Patient Counseling:

1. Provide basic counseling and education to patients on the proper use of their medications, potential side effects and any special instructions.

Medication Information:

1. Stay informed about pharmaceutical updates, new medications and treatment guidelines. Share relevant information with healthcare staff and patients.

Compliance:

1. Ensure that the pharmacy complies with all relevant laws, regulations and hospital policies. Maintain necessary licenses and certifications.

Support:

1. Assist pharmacy staff, including senior pharmacists, in daily tasks and projects. Provide support in maintaining records and documentation.

Quality Control:

1. Help maintain the quality and safety of medications by assisting in monitoring storage conditions and conducting periodic inventory checks.

Documentation:

1. Maintain accurate and organized records of medication dispensing and other pharmacy activities. This may include using electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration:

1. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to support patient care and address medication-related issues.

Adverse Event Reporting:

1. Report any adverse drug reactions, medication errors, or safety concerns to the appropriate authorities or senior pharmacists.

Continuous Learning:

1. Continuously improve your knowledge of pharmacy practices and stay current on developments in the field.

Required skill sets:

1. Strong understanding of pharmacology, healthcare regulations.

2. Excellent communication.
