About the Role: We are seeking a strategic, technically advanced and execution-driven Plant Head to lead end-to-end production activities of our Railway Coach & Bogie manufacturing division . The candidate must possess deep experience in managing operations of a multi-acre industrial setup , with working knowledge in: Heavy Fabrication Welding Line Management CNC/VMC/HMC Setup & Commissioning Coach Shell, Underframe, Bogie, and Sheet Metal Part Production Key Responsibilities: Plant Establishment & Expansion Lead planning & commissioning of new production lines for LHB bogies, PT coach shells, and locomotive components. Setup complete production flow from layout, foundation to machine installation (CNCs, 5-axis, hydraulic presses, laser cutting etc.). Production & Shop Floor Execution Fulfill monthly production targets in coordination with PPC. Lead daily fabrication, welding, laser cutting, assembly, and inspection activities. Drive shop floor operations using lean tools like 5S, Kaizen, TPM, Line Balancing, and SMED. Technical Control & Quality Compliance Monitor quality through WPS/PQR standards, coordinate with NDT teams (UT, DP, RT). Handle RDSO/ICF standards and railway inspection protocols. Push new prototype developments into mass production smoothly. Vendor & Material Management Manage raw material inflow - castings, forgings, plates, laser cut parts. Finalize procurement plans and engage with vendors for fabrication and assembly parts. Ensure timely approvals from third-party inspectors like RITES or Railway Boards . Team Leadership & MIS Reporting Lead a team of 200+ (operators, supervisors, engineers) in multi-shift operations. Train and upskill shop floor teams in latest production technologies. Present MIS, productivity KPIs, and technical reports to MD and leadership. Ideal Candidate Profile: Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Industrial / Production Engineering Must have built or handled plants manufacturing: Railway bogies Coach shells Underframes / Side walls / Roofs / End walls Proficiency in drawing interpretation , GD&T , ERP-based production , and handling 5-meter press brakes, CNCs, jigs/fixtures, and welding fixtures . Experience with Indian Railways / RCF / ICF / BEML / Titagarh / Texmaco / L&T / Escorts is highly preferred. Prior responsibility as Plant Head / DGM / Works Manager in an ISO 9001:2015 certified setup. Experience Required: 15 - 25 Years in Heavy Fabrication, Railway Components, or Automotive Structure Manufacturing.
