EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS A Diploma, Master’s, or M.Sc. degree in Yogic Science from a recognized institution Minimum of 7 years’ experience in teaching yoga and meditation to diverse groups In-depth understanding of classical yogic philosophy, with a demonstrated commitment to living a yogic lifestyle Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to connect authentically with guests Prior experience in ashram settings or training rooted in the Bihar School of Yoga tradition is highly desirable KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Yoga & Meditation Instruction: Lead daily group yoga classes and guided meditation sessions tailored to a variety of experience levels—from beginners to seasoned practitioners. Deliver practices rooted in classical traditions while integrating modern understanding of alignment, breathwork (pranayama), and mindfulness. 2. Personalized Wellness Consultations: Conduct one-on-one consultations to understand each guest’s physical condition, mental-emotional needs, and personal goals. Develop customized yoga sequences, pranayama, and lifestyle recommendations in alignment with Ayurvedic principles and yogic wisdom, supporting their holistic well-being during their stay and as a foundation for continued practice at home. 3. Program Coordination & Administration: Manage class schedules, coordinate with the wellness team, and ensure smooth daily operations of the yoga department. Maintain accurate records of customised sessions on the wellness app, along with progress evaluations through their program. Contribute to the writing case studies and projects that contribute to the evolution of offerings of Ananda’s standard of excellence. 4. Guest Engagement & Education: By sharing the deeper philosophy and essence of yoga through your informal interactions/sessions. Educate them on the benefits of integrating yoga into their lives daily. 5. Yoga Training & Mentorship: Develop and lead regular training sessions for the yoga team to ensure high standards in teaching and practice. Mentor junior instructors, provide feedback, and assign responsibilities to support their growth and accountability. Foster a culture of learning, teamwork, and shared responsibility within the department. 6. Collaboration & Professional Development: Work collaboratively with wellness professionals across disciplines—Ayurveda, TCM, nutrition, physiotherapy, and fitness—to create integrated wellness journeys.
