Key Responsibilities

Tableau Server Administration

• Install, configure, and maintain

  Tableau Server

  across multi-node, distributed environments.
• Perform

  system administration tasks

  including site creation, user provisioning, server upgrades, patching, and capacity planning.
• Monitor

  server activity, usage statistics, and performance metrics

  to identify bottlenecks and recommend enhancements.
• Implement

  clustering and load balancing strategies

  to ensure high availability and scalability.

Security & Integration

• Configure and maintain

  Single Sign-On (SSO)

  using

  SAML authentication

  .
• Integrate Tableau Server with

  Active Directory

  for user authentication and group-based access control.
• Implement and troubleshoot

  Trusted Authentication

  for embedded dashboards in enterprise applications.

Change & Release Management

• Manage

  migration of Tableau content

  (workbooks, dashboards, data sources, hierarchies) from development to production.
• Maintain version control and enforce change management processes for Tableau assets.
• Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams for coordinated software and hardware upgrades.

Performance Optimization

• Conduct

  performance tuning

  using tools such as:

• TabJolt

• Logshark

• Tableau Command Line Utilities

• Analyze logs and usage patterns to proactively address performance issues and optimize resource utilization.

User Support & Enablement

• Provide

  Tier 2 support

  to business users and analysts for Tableau Server and Desktop issues.
• Deliver

  training and onboarding sessions

  for new users on Tableau best practices and interactive report usage.
• Develop and maintain

  documentation, standards, and governance policies

  for Tableau development and administration.

Must-Have Skills

• 10+ years of experience

  in BI platform administration, with

  5+ years in Tableau Server administration

  .
• Proven expertise in:

• Tableau Server installation, configuration, and upgrades

• SSO configuration using SAML

• Active Directory integration

• Trusted Authentication for embedded dashboards

• Performance tuning using TabJolt, Logshark, and CLI tools

• Strong understanding of

  Tableau architecture

  , including clustering and load balancing.
• Experience managing

  migration workflows

  and release cycles in enterprise environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Tableau Certified Server Administrator or Certified Associate.
• Experience with

  cloud-hosted Tableau environments

  (AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with

  Linux/Windows Server administration

  .
• Exposure to

  data governance frameworks

  and

  role-based access control

  .
• Experience in

  healthcare, financial services, or regulated industries
