Job Opening Materials Manager, Salarpur, Bhiwadi (Near New Delhi)

We are looking for Senior Materials Manager.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Development:

• Identify, evaluate, select, and develop a reliable vendor base for critical categories including castings, forgings, and raw materials (steel, alloys, etc.).
• Lead negotiations for strategic contracts, ensuring best-in-class pricing, payment terms, and quality agreements.
• Establish and manage long-term partnerships with key suppliers to secure supply and mitigate risks.
• Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews to ensure continuous improvement.

2. Procurement & Supply Chain Management:

• Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to delivery, ensuring alignment with production schedules.

3. Inventory & Warehouse Management:

• Design and implement inventory control policies (e.g., ABC analysis, Min-Max levels) to optimize inventory turns and minimize working capital blockage.
• Ensure accurate inventory records through cycle counts and periodic audits.
• Oversee warehouse operations to ensure proper storage, preservation, and issuance of materials.

4. Systems & Process Implementation:

• Lead the implementation and mastery of ERP/SAP systems for the Materials Management (MM) module.
• Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all material management functions.
• Leverage data analytics from ERP systems for forecasting, spend analysis, and decision-making

5. Required Qualifications & Experience

• Education: A full-time Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or similar field).
• Experience: 15 to 20 years of progressive experience in material management, specifically within heavy engineering, fabrication, capital goods, or automotive sectors.
• Key Experience Areas:

• Proven track record in vendor development for castings, forgings, and fabrication raw materials.

• Expertise in inventory management principles and warehouse operations.

• In-depth knowledge of procurement and supply chain best practices.

• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP is highly preferred).
