Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Jira Expert to manage, optimize, and enhance our Jira environment to support seamless project management and collaboration across teams. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Jira administration, workflow customization, and integrations with other tools, as well as a proactive approach to troubleshooting and ensuring best practices in Agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Jira Administration:

  • Configure and manage Jira projects, boards, workflows, schemes, permissions, and user access.
  • Implement custom fields, issue types, and screen schemes to align with business needs.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure optimal Jira performance and usage.

2. Process Optimization:

  • Design and maintain scalable Jira workflows to support Agile, Scrum, and Kanban frameworks.
  • Analyze existing workflows and suggest improvements for efficiency and team productivity.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align Jira processes with organizational goals.

3. Integration and Automation:

  • Integrate Jira with other tools such as Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub, Jenkins, and Slack.
  • Implement and manage Jira automation rules to streamline repetitive tasks and reduce manual effort.
  • Work with APIs and plugins to extend Jira capabilities as needed.

4. Reporting and Dashboards:

  • Develop and maintain advanced Jira reports and dashboards for leadership and team-level insights.
  • Provide data-driven analysis to monitor project progress, productivity, and bottlenecks.
  • Generate and deliver ad hoc reports as requested by stakeholders.

5. Training and Support:

  • Conduct user training sessions on Jira best practices and new features.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving Jira-related issues.
  • Provide ongoing support to ensure proper usage and adoption of Jira across teams.

6. Compliance and Governance:

  • Enforce data integrity, adherence to Jira standards, and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Establish and document Jira administration processes and guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills:

Mandatory Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in Jira administration and process management.
  • In-depth knowledge of Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.
  • Proficiency in designing workflows, schemes, and issue hierarchies.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira APIs and plugins (e.g., ScriptRunner, Automation for Jira).

Additional Skills:

  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies.
  • Experience in integrating Jira with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools.
  • Knowledge of database management and scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Groovy).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator (ACP-100 or ACP-600).
  • Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, SAFe).
