Java Technical Lead

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Java Tech Lead to guide a team of backend engineers in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, enterprise-grade solutions. As a technical leader, you will drive architecture decisions, ensure engineering best practices, mentor developers, and play a key role in shaping the technology roadmap. You will be hands-on in code, deeply involved in the full SDLC, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact products.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and modern cloud-native technologies. Define and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices across the team. Collaborate with architects, product managers, and other tech leads to define system architecture and long-term technical strategy. Guide the team in technical problem solving, performance optimization, and debugging complex issues. Conduct code reviews, provide actionable feedback, and drive a high standard of technical excellence. Mentor and coach junior developers, helping them grow in technical capability and ownership. Own and lead initiatives end-to-end, from estimation and planning through deployment and post-release support. Ensure code quality, maintainability, and reliability through automated testing, CI/CD, and observability practices. Evaluate and introduce new tools, frameworks, or practices to improve team productivity and system resilience.

Required Qualifications
7+ years of professional software development experience with Java, including Spring/Spring Boot. 2+ years in a technical leadership role, guiding engineering teams and owning delivery outcomes. Strong understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems. Hands-on experience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis). Experience with Cloud platforms (preferably GCP, AWS, or Azure) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes). Proficient in version control (Git), CI/CD tools, and Agile development practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on performance and scalability.

Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to message brokers (Kafka, Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ). Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry. Familiarity with security best practices, authentication, and authorization protocols (OAuth2, JWT). Prior experience in e-commerce systems.
