Job Description

Role Overview:

As a Java L3 Support Engineer, you will be responsible for resolving the most complex technical issues related to Java-based applications. You act as the final escalation point for L1 and L2 support teams and collaborate closely with development, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure system stability, performance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advanced Troubleshooting:

    Resolve complex issues escalated from L1/L2 teams involving Java applications, databases, and infrastructure.
  • Bug Fixes & Enhancements:

    Analyze defects, implement fixes, and test changes in production and staging environments.
  • Root Cause Analysis:

    Conduct RCA for recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
  • Application Monitoring:

    Use tools like Dynatrace, Appwatch, or ITCAM to monitor performance and availability.
  • Collaboration:

    Work with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, release management, and DevOps.
  • Documentation:

    Maintain detailed records of issues, solutions, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • On-call Support:

    Participate in 24/7 support rotations for critical incidents.
  • Automation:

    Identify and automate repetitive tasks using tools like RPA (e.g., Automation Anywhere).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Java development and production support
  • Certifications in ITIL, Java, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) are a plus
