Java Developer – Web Application

Position : Java Developer – Web Application Location : Chennai Employment Type : Contract to Hire (CTH) Key Responsibilities : Analyze and remediate security vulnerabilities (e.g., Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), injection flaws) in legacy Java web applications. Refactor and update code written in JSP, Servlets, and traditional Java frameworks to meet modern security standards. Upgrade and manage project dependencies (e.g., commons-fileupload, Spring Framework) using Maven or Gradle, mitigating risks from outdated libraries. Utilize Git for version control: follow branching strategies, create pull requests, and conduct/participate in code reviews. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure remediation solutions align with business and technical requirements. Maintain code quality and documentation throughout the development lifecycle. Requirements : 5+ Years of experience in Java web application development. Strong knowledge of JSP, Servlets, and legacy Java web technologies. Proven experience with Maven or Gradle for managing project builds and dependencies. Familiarity with Eclipse IDE or similar Java development environments. Hands-on experience using Git in a team environment, including creating branches, submitting pull requests, and participating in peer reviews. Understanding of common web application vulnerabilities and secure coding practices. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a distributed team.
