Japanese Language Trainer

Role & responsibilities

• Design and deliver Japanese language training programs (N5 to N3/N2 level) for students and staff.
• Prepare students for JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) and BJT (Business Japanese Proficiency Test).
• Conduct speaking, listening, reading, and writing sessions using interactive and student-centric methods.
• Organize cultural exchange activities and awareness programs related to Japan.
• Monitor students progress and provide regular feedback and evaluations.
• Create custom training materials and adapt content to the proficiency level of learners.
• Collaborate with placement and international relations teams for student readiness programs.
• Stay updated with latest trends in language teaching and JLPT updates.

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in teaching Japanese language, preferably in an academic or training institution.
• JLPT N2 or higher certification is mandatory (N1 preferred).
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Japanese Language / Literature or any relevant field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese and English.
• Familiarity with online teaching tools and language learning platforms.
• Experience in preparing students for JLPT and other standardized Japanese exams.

Desirable Skills:

• Prior experience teaching engineering or management students.
• Knowledge of Japanese corporate culture and business communication.
• Ability to incorporate technology into language instruction.
• Exposure to working or studying in Japan (preferred but not mandatory).
