IT Technician

You are a detail-oriented and proactive Lab Technician with expertise in hardware, networking, and computer systems. Your role involves setting up and maintaining lab infrastructure, ensuring smooth functionality of hardware and networking systems, and assisting in technical projects as needed. Your responsibilities include assembling, troubleshooting, and repairing computer hardware and peripherals, conducting routine maintenance and performance checks on lab equipment, setting up and configuring LAN, WAN, and wireless networks within the lab, troubleshooting and resolving network connectivity issues, installing and configuring various technical devices, providing technical support for setup and integration of specialized equipment, installing, updating, and managing operating systems and software applications, performing diagnostics to identify and resolve technical issues promptly, documenting and logging all activities, maintenance schedules, and troubleshooting steps, maintaining inventory of lab equipment and spare parts, ensuring proper calibration and safe operation of technical equipment, and assisting in developing and improving standard operating procedures (SOPs). To qualify for this role, you should have a Diploma or degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or a related field. You should be proficient in computer hardware components, assembly, and repair, have a strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.), be familiar with installation and configuration of network equipment, and possess knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and macOS. Certifications like CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar are a plus. Additionally, you should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and be detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. The work environment may involve physical tasks such as lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to a specified weight. It primarily consists of an indoor laboratory environment with occasional site visits. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as required is necessary.
