IT Network Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Network Engineer with 5+ years of professional experience to design, implement, secure, and maintain our organizations network infrastructure. The role involves managing LAN, WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, and cloud/hybrid networks, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability to support business operations. The ideal candidate will also contribute to IT security strategy, vendor management, and infrastructure improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Network Design, Implementation & Maintenance

• Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN, VPN, and wireless networks to support office and remote operations.
• Install, configure, and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking equipment.
• Plan and implement network upgrades, migrations, and new technology rollouts.

Network Security & Compliance

• Implement and monitor firewall policies, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint security measures.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and apply security patches.
• Ensure compliance with internal IT security standards and external regulatory requirements.

Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Support

• Proactively monitor network performance, bandwidth utilization, and uptime.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues and resolve escalated incidents in a timely manner.
• Provide advanced support to IT Support teams and end-users for network-related issues.

Documentation & Vendor Management

• Maintain updated documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and change logs.
• Manage relationships with ISPs, hardware vendors, and service providers to ensure SLA compliance.
• Evaluate new networking products, tools, and solutions for continuous improvement.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

• Ensure robust backup, redundancy, and failover mechanisms are in place.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and incident response drills.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

• 5+ years of proven experience

  in network engineering, design, and support.
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols: TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VLAN, QoS, DNS, DHCP.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls (Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and wireless network technologies.
• Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid environments.
• Preferred certifications:

  CCNP, CCNA (Routing & Switching / Security), CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
