Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Structured Cabling Design

Plan and design copper (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, Cat7) and fiber optic cabling layouts.
Ensure compliance with standards (TIA/EIA-568, ISO/IEC 11801).
Create patch panel and rack layouts for neat, scalable installations.

Data Center / Server Room Setup

Rack and stack servers, switches, firewalls, UPS, and PDUs.
Plan hot/cold aisle containment for airflow management.
Manage grounding, labeling, and cable management.

Power & Cooling

Plan UPS systems, power redundancy (N+1, N+N).
Coordinate with HVAC for cooling capacity.

Maintenance & Documentation

Maintain cable maps, rack elevations, and floor plans.
Conduct audits, test cabling (Fluke testing), and troubleshoot physical faults.
Manage vendors for installation and maintenance.
